KIPP TRUTH Academy, established in 2003, is the first KIPP school in North Texas and is the pioneer school for what will become a network of schools in the KIPP Dallas-Fort Worth region.

KIPP DFW's TRUTH Academy is a free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory middle school located in south Oak Cliff on Kiest and Lancaster. We have been featured on Oprah, 60 minutes and recently on the documentary Waiting for "Superman" which premiered in Dallas in November depicting the education system in the United States and the new revolution of charter schools.

KIPP DFW's TRUTH Academy’s (KTA) mission is to equip traditionally underserved students with the character traits and skills necessary to succeed in top-quality high schools, colleges and the competitive world. At a time when many have given up on public education – and the futures of inner-city children – KTA is raising expectations.  KTA students outperform their peers and advance toward college because we set high standards, inspire achievement and instill confidence.

What’s in it for you?

KIPP DFW's TRUTH Academy (KTA) has been in Dallas since 2003 and is Academically Recognized. We want to continue providing top quality education to traditionally underserved students by putting every KIPPster in the path of success. Across the country, more than 95 percent of KIPP middle school students have graduated high school, and more than 85 percent of KIPP alumni have gone on to college.

Students are motivated, encouraged, and challenged daily in their classrooms through team work, daily homework, and enriching material. In addition, KTA provides a safe environment where student’s natural desire to participate, ask questions and learn is capitalized to the fullest through minimization of all disruptions. At KTA bullying, fights and disrespectful behavior is not tolerated.
